International Dubbing Wiki

Here at International Dubbing Wiki, articles need to be consistent and cohesive sitewide in styling as well as formatting. This Manual of Style encompasses and provides guidelines on how pages should structured.

Layout

Keep in mind that the headers listed down aren't entirely obligatory and should be only used when necessary. If relevant, new sections may be added. Additionally, music-related media might require sections like "Choir" and "Songs", placed subsequently after "Cast".

Templates

Here is an non-exhaustive list of the templates used on an article and their respective placements within them:

General

  • Infoboxes and navboxes: Placed at the start of an article for mediatic, dubber and studio pages (infoboxes) and at the end of a dub page (navboxes).
  • Dub Box: Placed under the "-" Template in mediatic pages. Placed otherwise at the start of the article in dub pages.
    • Cast/Start, Cast, Cast/End: Placed under the heading "Cast" of any page, usually after the Dub Box template.
      • Cast/Other: Placed under the Cast templates in the heading "Cast".

Mediatic pages

  • Synopsis: Placed after the introductory paragraph. Additionally, the Table of Contents (__TOC__) is placed after this template.
  • -: Placed after the synopsis template.
  • Dub Icon: Placed under every heading that follows "Dubs", just before the dub page link.

Titles

When creating a page about a specific dub of a media, it should be titled as the following (italic denote optional fields): MEDIANAME/LANGUAGE (DIALECT, YEAR, STUDIO) (e. g: Bambi/Portuguese (Brazilian, Delart)). If a media's title uses non-Latin script, it should be romanized for accessibility by using the respective system listed below.

Dates

All dates need to be written in the American format, which follows this order: MMM/DD/YYYY (e. g: November 18, 2021). However, using all-numeric dates (e. g: 11/18/2021) is highly discouraged.

Romanization
